Forged in Fire: The Unique Endurance of Tribulation Saints

Well, here we again…A new season is upon us with new challenges. I am once again faced with the dilemma of wondering what more I can say to inspire, and motivate other believers during these troubled times we are living in.

I am writing this article in a time where there is no doubt, or should be obvious to most, that we are in a more crucial phase of the end times. Those of us who are passionate about Eschatology, (the study of the end times), are really ramping up our efforts to press upon those of you who are considered “tribulation saints” to pick up the pace. So, just exactly what are “tribulation saints” anyway you may be asking?

If you are what is considered to be a “pre-tribber”, the concept of “tribulation saints” will come as a surprise to you. You see there is no Biblically supported factual evidence for a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, or body of believers. The idea, or notion of being raptured or taken up before any tribulation happens was erroneously conceptualized many years ago. With this in mind I need to tell you that we, the body of believes who are still alive, will face the tribulation period. I Thessalonians 4:15-17 (NKJV)- “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” In fact, as of the writing or reading of this article we may already be there now. I have already completed an extensive video detailing this earlier, so I won’t go into all of that in this article. However, you can click on the following link to the video on my youtube for further details regarding this subject: Pre-Tribulation Rapture Dilemma-https://youtu.be/0-d81TC3fdI?si=Q-KQaoqelnYOUSjN.

So now I would like to expound upon the term “tribulation saints”. During the end of days we, the body of believers, are instructed to be strong and endure so that we may be able to face what lies ahead. Revelation 14:12 (NKJV)- “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Some of us will be here during those last, and horrific days during the “final” tribulation period. It has been documented, and discussed at length by experts in this area of study that the “final” tribulation period will be the last 3.5 years of the 7 years of which we enter into “the tribulation. The ones who endure until the end are the “tribulation saints”. Mathew 24:13 (NKJV)- “But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”

You may be asking how do we know which group we fit into? That’s an excellent question! The simple answer is…YOU DON’T KNOW! Yikes…so what do we do now? How do we prepare, how do we endure if we are the ones still here? Why are we still here? Does it mean we are not saved?

All of these questions are legitimate. However, we know that God has not given us a spirit of fear, so we must approach these questions with proper knowledge, and truth. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)- “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)-“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Psalm119:11 (NIV)- “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin again you.” One of the best examples of how this all plays out is perfectly illustrated in one of Jesus’ awesome parables; The Parable of the Ten Virgins.

Mathew 25 1-13 (NIV)- “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

“Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

“‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

10 But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

We know from the reading of the parable that 5 virgins where wise, and 5 were foolish. 5 of them brought a flask of oil for their lamps, and 5 did not have enough. Tho all of them fell asleep while awaiting the bridge-groom’s appearance, only 5 were prepared to go out and meet him. This parable is a directly comparable to believers during the end times, and the tribulation period. We are to be as the 5 wise virgins who had prepared to meet the bridegroom.

In other-words, we are to have the endurance of faith that he is indeed coming, the endurance to wake upon the call and act, the endurance to be prepared at a moments notice for our duty as believers, and the endurance to overcome the formidable trials of the tribulation until the end with our souls, and our faith intact.

Tribulations Saints then, are those few who are able to endure the hardships, the trials, the pressures, the anguish, and the coming wrath of the enemy, (satan) who will be cast out of Heaven on to the Earth. Revelation 12:12 (NIV)-“Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” The “short time” that is reference here has been accepted by most Eschatological experts as the last 3.5 years of the tribulation period.

Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t relish the idea of dealing with anymore of satan’s wrath. However, I am passionate about being prepared no matter what is coming. The Bible clearly tells us throughout the scriptures that things will be horrific. So horrific that if the time was not short, even the “elect” would not survive. Mathew 24:22 (NIV)- “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.” They would be deceived and fall away. Mathew 24:24 (NIV)- “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” The elect, (in my opinion), is a reference to those who I termed “the tribulation saints”.

However this all plays out, we are “ALL” supposed to be prepared for the coming of the bride-groom. We “ALL” must have the endurance of the saints. We are to get into the word of God, study the word of God, pray on the word of God, preach the word of God, and disciple the word of God EVERY DAY! We run the race as if our very lives depend on it because…IT DOES!!! Eternal salvation is not guaranteed. Our faith must remain intact and endure until the end.

As always…may the Lord bless and keep. May His face shine down upon you.

All my love in Christ Jesus, Shalom!

Annie 🙂
